SYNOPSIS

Robin King is setting off on a journey to explore why so many men and women
have unprotected sex and producing children, but will not commit to marriage or
    any type of co-parenting situation?

Involved in an unhealthy relationship, Robin King, a single mother from Harlem,
NYC purposely stopped taking the birth control to get pregnant by the man she
loved.  She never told the father of their daughter she stopped taking the pill and
never told him she wanted to have a baby.  For years she lied to the father about
what she did to become pregnant.  Robin’s selfishness has put up a wall of distrust
between herself and the father, but never has the father stop paying child support
    or stop seeing his daughter.

Robin’s decision to have a child out of wedlock has affected her life but most
importantly, has affected her daughter’s life greatly.  Although Robin is an educated,
strong and loving mother…being a single mother is VERY hard.
The day to day responsibility of being a working single mother is overwhelming.
More importantly, the effect her choice has on her daughter is heartbreaking.

Determined to make sure she has a great partner in her life and her daughter has a
great day-to-day father, Robin has changed her ways for the better. But why,
especially in the African-American community, do we have so many children out of
    wedlock?

In 2007, 72% of African-American Women had children out of wedlock, 51% for
Hispanic Women and 28% for White Women.

Why are so many African-American women sole heads of households?
In the African-American Community, 8 out of every 10 children are raised in single
parent homes, headed by women. That is over 30% higher than the national
average.  Our homes are Fatherless…What’s Going On?  Why can’t the Black Man
and Black Woman come together and build families like in the past?

What are father’s legal rights to his child?  How about father’s feelings, thoughts
and ideas about being a father?  What are some of the government programs set-up
for fathers?  How is the child support set-up for fathers?

What’s Going On?  What will happen to our children if we continue on this path in
America?  What are we going to do about it?
